Susan McCoy has been uniting rescues with their Forever Families
for over 20 years. Before starting Southern California Keeshond Rescue, Susan previously worked with Friends for Pets
Susan has great compassion and empathy that all her rescues
feel. It is not uncommon for her to hold on to pairs that have
been lifemates in order to find homes together. Susan has helped many Keeshonden get the necessary medical treatment so they will be ready to find their forever home.
Susan belongs to Southern California Keeshond Club and The Keeshond Club of America. She has several dogs of her own including a Keeshond named Bo, who became the ambassador of Southern California Keeshond Rescue in 1995 after being abandoned by his second military family

(Check back soon for more information about Kim!)
Kim has adopted two dogs from Susan, Cheyanne and Keisha. Keisha had four homes prior to finding this forever home. Amy, a black lab was also adopted by Kim and her family after the owner died.

Brian and Sandi first became involved with Rescue two year ago after they drove over 100 miles to adopt 'Uhane from Susan. They quickly realized that there were a lot of Keeshond in the Inland Empire Area (Riverside & San Bernardino Counties) that needed help and offered to help transport them for Susan. Currently, their record for the longest drive in one day is just over 600 miles, and helped save two dogs from kill shelters.
Brian and Sandi have had Keeshonden as part of their family for the last 12 years. They adopted three rescues from Susan in 1998 - 'Uhane, Wolfy and Mariah.
